MVP ACADEMY YOUTH TACKLE FOOTBALL CAMP

Date: July 24th-26th

Time: 1stGroup (5th-6th Grade) 8am-12pm (12pm-1 pm Lunch time),

           2nd Group (7th-8th Grade) 11am-4pm(Lunch 1-2pm)

Skills Covered:

Quarterbacks – will learn the proper fundamentals and techniques of footwork, ball handling, placement of the ball, as well as pre-and post-snap reads.

​

Running Backs – will learn the proper fundamentals and techniques of ball handling, footwork, blocking and route running. They will also be taught what to look for pre-snap, how to properly pick up a blitz and pass-catching skills.

​

Wide Receivers/Tight Ends – will learn the proper techniques and fundamentals of alignment,

steps/depth on individual and combination routes, pass-catching skills, and releases off the line of

scrimmage.

​

Defensive Backs – will learn the proper fundamentals and techniques of foot work, ball skills, tackling

and man-to-man and zone coverage.

​

Linebackers – will learn the proper techniques and fundamentals of shedding blocks, tackling, and

correct positioning in man-to-man and zone coverage.

​

Linemen - will learn proper footwork, hand placement, technique for run-and-pass-blocking, run

defense, pass-rushing and more.

​

Board Talk: Going over coverages and offensive schemes.

​

CAMP CHECK-IN and START TIME: On the first Day of camp, check-in for the first group will be at 7am and second group will check in at 10am. After the first day every athlete must be dressed and ready to go 15min before camp starts.

​

CAMPER PICK-UP: 1st group pick up time will be at 1pm, 2nd group pick up time 3pm. During Lunch time for 5thand 6th Graders they are available to leave at any time from 12pm-1pm, Lunch time.

Food: Lunch, Snacks, and water will be provided for each group.

WHAT TO BRING: This is a fully padded camp. All campers are required to have the following:

• Helmet w/ facemask and chin strap

• Mouth guard

• Shoulder pads

• Jersey

• Football pants with the following pads—hip pads, tail pad, thigh pads and knee pads.

• Football cleats

​

If you are participating in a youth league this fall, contact your youth football organization as they

may issue full pads to your child if they are registered to play in the upcoming season.

An official MVP Football Camp T-shirt will be given to each camper at check-in.

​

MVP AWARDS: At the end of camp, we will provide MVP awards to our top performers for each grade.
